I teach an introductory animation  class every Fall.  This is a Maya animation created by Bardia, a student in my class in the Fall of ’08.  Maya is arguably the most popular animation application out there and is heavily used in the entertainment world.  You have almost certainly seen multiple movies that were created largely with Maya.  It is a very, very difficult app to learn to use.  It’s GUI (graphical user interface) is massive and creating even very small animations can require many hours of intricate work.

This is a Quicktime movie. (Your computer might want to help you download and install the Quicktime plugin.  It’s free, and it’s a good thing to have, since many videos created on  macs are in this format.  So you may as well do it.)
